Local RE/MAX offices take top honours at international awardsFollowing a successful national convention held at Sun City, RE/MAX Masters went on to take top honours as the Top International Office for Closed Transactions outside of Northern America and Canada. The award was presented at the 2012 RE/MAX International convention, which was held in Las Vegas on 7 March.At the South African convention, Glenn Norton, Broker/Owner of RE/MAX Masters, was awarded with the Broker/Owner of the Year Award for a Multi Office situated in a metro area. The office was also presented with the award for highest sales volume by registered commission for a Multi Office, while the Sales Associate of the Year by registered commission was awarded to Tracey Snyman of RE/MAX Masters. Competing against real estate offices from 85 countries, taking the international award is a remarkable achievement for the South African brokerage. Adrian Goslett, CEO of RE/MAX of Southern Africa, says: "We are really proud of the calibre of Broker/Owners and agents we have working within our organisation and we take our hats off to the amazing things they have achieved both nationally and on an international scale. RE/MAX of Southern Africa is a force to be reckoned with and has some of the top real estate professionals in the industry across the globe. We have proven that we can compete with the best in the world and win." When asked about the success of the office, Norton said from Las Vegas: "The success of the office is due to hard work as well as committed agents and staff members. We aim to give professional guidance to buyers and sellers, while being fair at all times and holding up proper values such as integrity. RE/MAX is so much more than just a brand, it's a fantastic family to be a part of. The support that RE/MAX of Southern Africa has given us has been instrumental in both the office's growth as well as mine personally," he says. "As a Broker/Owner within the RE/MAX family, Chairman Peter Gilmour and other Brokers/Owners such as Pelham Henwood, have had a huge influence in mentoring me as a business owner and encouraging me to be the best I can be. I have also always embraced learning and attend as many conventions and educational sessions as possible, encouraging my staff to do the same, as one can never learn enough." Other awards that were presented to the South African contingent at Las Vegas were the third place spot in the Top 10 Individuals for International Residential agents, which went to South Africa's number one agent, Kobie Potgieter, Broker/Owner of RE/MAX Independent Properties. She competed with over 90 000 international agents for the award. Gerlinde Moser, Broker/Owner of RE/MAX Living, took the fourth place spot in the Top 10 Teams for International Residential agents. "For many South African consumers, purchasing a property is the largest financial decision they will ever make. It is good to know that the property professionals in our country that fall under the RE/MAX umbrella are among the best in the world and are able to assist buyers and sellers with their expertise in the industry," Goslett concludes.
